My Dream About a Great Darkness Covering the Earth

Jun 04, 2020

In late October 2019, just as the Amazon Synod came to a close, I had a dream about a chastisement from God.

You may already know that there was a major scandal at the synod of bishops last year. Come to find out, they had Pachamama statues there (the "Pachamama" is a fertility goddess venerated by the indigenous people of the Andes), and people were seen on camera bowing down before these idols as top-ranking prelates looked on.

There was even published a prayer to the idol which read:

“Pachamama of these places, drink and eat as much as you like of these offerings, so that this earth may be fruitful. Pachamama, good Mother, be propitious! Be propitious! Let the oxen walk well, and let them not get tired.”

How have we come to this? How is it that our bishops, who are supposed to defend their flock from the wolves, are actually inviting wolves into the fold by allowing pagan ceremonies to take place right on the Vatican grounds?

We have only to read the Word of God to find the answer. Before His Passion on the cross, Jesus said to His apostles:

“This night all of you will have your faith in me shaken, for it is written: ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be dispersed.’” (Matt 26:31)

When Christ was condemned to death, His disciples dispersed in fear. Remember Peter denying Christ three times before the cock crowed?

Today, the flock is dispersing once again, and I believe this is a sign that the Passion of Christ's Church has begun.

I remember at a Mass in early October, a wise old priest was urging us to pray for the synod. "This Amazon Synod is very important and you must pray!" he said sternly.

I really wish now that I had heeded his words.

Sure, I said a quick prayer for the synod, but that was it. I really didn't know anything about it, and frankly I was "too busy" to find out. I certainly didn't understand the gravity of what was going on there (and perhaps the doors to the demonic which were opened) until some time after the synod had ended.

In fact, the only reason I remember almost precisely when I had this dream is because I told a friend about it a few days later. I have a photo from that day, dated November 3rd, 2019. Now I learn that just one week earlier, on October 27th, the Amazon Synod had come to a close. Just two weeks later, on November 17th, the first coronavirus case was identified.

Coincidence?

Possibly. But I doubt it.

I'm not saying that this dream I had was prophetic. You can discern for yourself whether it's something you should pay attention to or not.

However, I have learned to listen to that "small voice" (1 Kings 19:11-13) which sometimes speaks in a thought, and sometimes in a dream...

My Dream About a Chastisement

My mom and I were caught outside in a thick darkness which had covered the entire earth.

It's hard to describe this darkness, because it's nothing like I've ever experienced. But it was as if the phrase "you could cut the air with a knife" took on an all new meaning... the air was so dense and heavy, you could almost literally cut it with a knife.

We both immediately understood the grave reality that this was a chastisement: a punishment from God for the sins of humanity. We looked at each other and remarked, "God is very angry!"

Somehow, we safely made our way on foot through this darkness to a big house on a hill. The rest of our family was already there. This house did not look familiar at all, but it was a peaceful place and I felt safe there.

Then, the darkness gave way to a beautiful dawn. The house on the hill had a gorgeous view of the countryside, and we watched in peaceful silence as the sun slowly began to rise, creating a beautifully pink sky. The only sound was the birds sweetly singing.

This dawn seemed to me to be a sign of God's love and mercy, like the rainbow which appeared after the Great Deluge.

But it was only a reprieve... a calm before another storm.

After what seemed to be a mere few minutes of watching the sunrise, suddenly all hell broke loose. A huge swarm of birds descended upon us.

Think Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds." Only these birds were colorful, like parakeets or something like that. They were coming down with such force that they started to break through the glass windows and shatter them. I wasn't sure whether or not we would survive.

That's when I woke up.

Did I See the Prophesied "Three Days of Darkness"?

What immediately came to mind when reflecting on this dream was the book of Exodus. During the captivity of the Israelites, God sent 10 plagues to the land of Egypt: water turning to blood, frogs, lice, flies, livestock pestilence, boils, hail, locusts, darkness and the killing of firstborn children.

The darkness lasted for three days:

"Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and there was dense darkness throughout the land of Egypt for three days. Men could not see one another, nor could they move from where they were, for three days. But all the Israelites had light where they dwelt." (Exodus 10:22-23)

However, I had no clue that there have actually been many prophesies about another three days of darkness, which this time will cover the entire earth.

About three months later, in March 2020, a video came up in my YouTube feed from Father Mark Goring entitled, "THE THREE DAYS OF DARKNESS."

Boy, that caught my attention!

Watching the video, I learned that Blessed Anna Maria Taigi (1769-1837) saw a vision of a darkness covering the entire earth:

"God will send two punishments: one will be in the form of wars, revolutions, and other evils; it shall originate of earth. The other will be sent from heaven. There shall come over the whole earth an intense darkness lasting three days and three nights. Nothing can be seen, and the air will be laden with pestilence which will claim mainly, but not only, the enemies of religion. It will be impossible to use any man-made lighting during this darkness, except blessed candles. He, who out of curiosity, opens his window to look out, or leaves his home, will fall dead on the spot. During these three days, people should remain in their homes, pray the Rosary and beg God for mercy. All the enemies of the Church, whether known or unknown, will perish over the whole earth during that universal darkness, with the exception of a few whom God will soon convert. The air shall be infected by demons who will appear under all sorts of hideous forms."

A Breton mystic and stigmatist, Marie Julie Jahenny (1850-1941), was told the same thing by Our Lady, and other saints and seers have prophesied the same.

This is very interesting... If the Church is going through her own passion just like Christ's, might it make sense that she would also go "into the tomb" for three days?

"Just as Jonah was in the belly of the whale three days and three nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. The Son of Man is to be handed over to men, and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day." (Matt 12:40; 17:22-23)

In fact, a chastisement consisting of a darkness covering the earth has been predicted in Holy Scripture:

"When I blot you out, I will cover the heavens, and make their stars dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give its light. All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over you, and put darkness upon your land, says the Lord God." (Ez 32:7-8)

"A day of wrath is that day, a day of anguish and distress, a day of destruction and desolation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of thick black clouds… I will hem men in till they walk like the blind, because they have sinned against the Lord…" (Zep 1:15, 17-18)

"Lo, the day of the Lord comes, cruel, with wrath and burning anger; to lay waste the land and destroy the sinners within it! The stars and constellations of the heavens send forth no light; the sun is dark when it rises, and the light of the moon does not shine. Thus I will punish the world for its evil and the wicked for their guilt. I will put an end to the pride of the arrogant, the insolence of tyrants I will humble." (Is 13:9-11)

Such an event has not yet occurred. Could my dream be a warning that this event will happen in our lifetime?

Could the house on the hill signify a refuge of some sort (also spoken of by various prophets)?

Could the peaceful dawning sun be symbolic of an interim Period of Peace before the second coming of Christ and the end of the world, as the Fathers of the Church believed would happen?

I don't know. But I remember Our Lady's message at Fatima, and I get excited:

“In the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she will be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world.” (July 13, 1917)

Please join me in praying with eager anticipation for this period of peace to come, when the words we pray in the Our Father may be fulfilled:

Fiat voluntas tuasicut in caelo, et in terra.

Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
